Infidels Paradise

I’m thinking it was April 19, 1993. I was sitting on the edge of my sofa watching (probably CNN because my cable company hadn’t added FOX yet) the cable news of the ongoing Waco Branch Davidians compound. And I’m thinking, “Damn! These cults are insane …” and then POOF! the building goes up in an inferno of flames and black smoke as military tanks begin to back away out of the collapse. Then something inside my mind seemed to click over, “DAMN! This government is insane!” (I do not blame, by the way, the armed forces involved that day because they were following orders by their higher-ups … whose hands are covered in blood and charred flesh of those people who died that day.)

Then came the growing legal malpractice of the Executive branch of our government in dealing with the President’s personal ’sexual’ misconduct that was NOT about whom or what he did or didn’t diddle, but the fact that he and his army of lawyers were ramming their media tanks into the investigation of Clinton’s deliberate abuse of power in order to cover his growing lies when all that was needed was his acknowledgement of personal philandering that really wasn’t anybody’s damn business. But the media’s political board game grew and grew in order to save this man’s ass. For the next handful of years this man could do no wrong. Only the people accusing or criticizing him were the evil demons. While some might argue it started before the Clinton years (possibly the Vietnam era) I say the MSM cut it’s secondary teeth during the Clinton years. Into the George W. Bush years the MSM shamelessly, and possibly treasonously, gnashed those sharp teeth on the Administration and on our active duty troops in war battles in two theaters.

The American people were not paying close enough attention to what was happening. If we wanted to see and understand where the media and the ‘revolutionary’ party in this country were going to tie a piano wire around our collective necks and drag us we (those who chose not to open their eyes and watch) should have strongly noted how Joe The Plumber was treated after daring to ask then candidate Obama a pointed and frank question about his plans/views for this nation’s taxes, economy, and anticipated treatment of small and big businesses. Pretty much recall that final scene in Braveheart where William Wallace is tied down and slowly gutted in front of the masses … Yeah.

Then there was the trashing of McCain’s juggernaut running mate Gov. Sarah Palin. Everything the feminists wanted for a woman in their ideal world. Strong. Self-assured. Confident. Accomplished without a man’s hand-up or out. A mother … and a pregnant mother who had facts before her and used her ‘right to choose’. And now a woman who was seeking the second highest office not only in the nation but in the world. But she was Bravehearted by the two-faced feminists and the ‘unbiased’ MSM.

Soon the American people were being fed the twisted non-facts (that CNN failed to fact-check) of the SNL Tina Fey portrayal of the accomplished and qualified woman. We were treated to leg shots that nearly looked up her skirts with men and young men in the front row appearing to be viewing such. Obama was shown in messianic auras and outstretched prophetic arms, while McCain was shown as some goofy old fart allowed out for field trips from the nursing home. At times the MSM even gave the Anna Nicole Smith / J. Howard Marshall appearance with Palin and McCain. Don’t deny it. I saw it. Right to the election the MSM played a game of political manipulation checkers with the American public with loaded cow patties as checkers.

FlashForward (a so far decent TV show on ABC on Thursday nights at 8:00 ET, BTW) to this past summer. Upon Obama’s and the democrats’ breakneck spending and usurping of power and control over the American people the MSM began the race card game while dealing from the bottom of the deck. Tea Party activists were dubbed “tea baggers” (a sexual act), idiots who don’t know history, redneck racists who simply hate a ‘black man’ as POTUS, and an angry mob. This moved onto the townhalls. Meanwhile, the real honest-to-God mob is in control of the White House and the nation’s Congress … the MSM its dirty job toady wiping its nose on its sleeve and spitting on the sidewalk. And, as anticipated, the 9-12 protest gathering in Washington DC was portrayed by the media as a small gathering of a few thousand racists who forgot their white sheets and pointy hoods at home. When, in fact, it was at the very least one million people from all corners of the nation, of all colors and creeds and political affiliations there to oppose the rocky and muddy path this administration and Congress are taking our republic.

Go back to that final scene in Braveheart where William Wallace is drawn and quartered. Yes, it was meant to inflict torture and pain on him because of his opposition. But it was also meant to intimidate those standing around who were watching as a warning that “If we can do this to your greatest champion … your loudest voice, we can surely do this or worse to you.”

But it didn’t deter the fight. Another took up the sword and lead the charge. While Rush is still very much alive and kicking the lesson that needs to be learned from this past week is that the truth, much like the dollar, has lost great value in this country. It has been replaced by self-serving deceit and manipulation. How much that new commodity is worth and remains of worth is up to the American people. We need to demand truth from the MSM that has always defined itself as this nation’s watchdog. Well, that watchdog has willingly turned into a rabid mutt doing the mangy bidding of a disgusting Marxist mob of spiteful thugs in power. After all, one of their leading voices said exactly that after Obama took office … It’s his “job” to see the man succeeds. He pretty much swore to it.
