Abuse Of Power
A string of electoral defeats and the great unpopularity of ObamaCare can’t stop Democrats from their self-appointed rendezvous with liberal destiny—ramming a bill through Congress on a narrow partisan vote. What we are about to witness is an extraordinary abuse of traditional Senate rules to pass a bill merely because they think it’s good for the rest of us, and because they fear their chance to build a European welfare state may never come again.

The vehicle is “reconciliation,” a parliamentary process that fast-tracks budget measures and was created in 1974 as a deficit-reduction tool. Limited to 20 hours of debate, reconciliation bills need a mere 50 votes in the Senate, with the Vice President as tie-breaker, thus circumventing the filibuster. Both Democrats and Republicans have frequently used reconciliation on budget bills, so Democrats are now claiming that using it to pass ObamaCare is no big deal.
Congress’s Approval Rating: 10%
Yes smile Comrade, the country thinks you are doing a terrible job
Voter unhappiness with Congress has reached the highest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports as 71% now say the legislature is doing a poor job.
That’s up ten points from the previous high of 61% reached a month ago.
Only 10% of voters say Congress is doing a good or excellent job.
Nearly half of Democratic voters (48%) now give Congress a poor rating, up 17 points since January. The vast majority of Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party also give Congress poor ratings.

Southern Californi Councilman Wears A Stalin-ized Pelosi Sign In Protest
That protesters on both sides of the political spectrum equate America’s leaders with dictators like Hitler isn’t new. But critics were shocked when such a comparison was made by an elected official.
Last Friday, a group rented a room at the Irvine Hilton to protest the Democratic Party of Orange County’s 15th Annual Harry Truman Awards and headliner House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Joining the demonstration was Irvine Councilman and Assembly candidate Steven Choi.
An OC Register photographer caught Choi roaming the Hilton lobby before Pelosi’s address. Choi is seen in a suit, tie and a depiction of Pelosi as Joseph Stalin, the Soviet dictator who killed millions under his Great Terror campaign. Another photo shows Choi posing with a woman who is wearing a Pelosi-SS guard illustration.
Pelosi’s Health Care Bill Would Regulate Snack Machines At An Estimated $56 Million The First Year
It’s all about control
(CNSNews.com) – The House health-care reform plan unveiled last week by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would do more than regulate insurance companies – it would even regulate vending machines.
The bill, which is posted online, would require that vending machine operators either create new machines that allow the customer to view nutrition facts or post nutritional information for each product near “each article of food or the selection button.”
The regulation could wind up costing vendors millions of dollars to make the changes, according to industry estimates.
Pelosi’s Weird Math On Health Care ‘Cost Cutting’ Would Increase Costs By $289 Billion
Democrats have promised that health reform would reduce health care costs, but legislation the House passed last week would increase costs over the next decade by $289 billion. By 2019, health costs would rise to 21.1 percent of GDP compared to 20.8 under current law, according to an actuarial report prepared by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“With the exception of the proposed reductions in Medicare payment updates for institutional providers, the provisions of H.R. 3962 would not have a significant impact on future health care cost growth rates. In addition, the longer-term viability of the Medicare update reductions is doubtful,” the report said.

Pelosi’s Health Care Bill Will Require A Monthly Abortion Premium
Health care reform should not be used as an opportunity to use federal funds to pay for elective abortions. Health reform should be an opportunity to protect human life – not end it.
Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s 2,032-page government takeover of health care does just that. On line 17, p. 110, section 222 under “Abortions for which Public Funding is Allowed” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run plan. The Speaker’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions.
Deputy GOP Whip In The House Says When Asked How Many Republicans Will Support Health Care Reform..”Very,Very Close To Zero”
Republicans will overwhelmingly reject the Democrats’ healthcare reform measure when it is reaches the House floor, according to a key lawmaker.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), who serves as deputy GOP whip, told The Hill that the number of Republicans supporting the sweeping legislation will be “very, very close to zero.”
“I don’t know of a Republican out there advocating it,” the lawmaker said.
Every House Republican rejected the Democrats’ stimulus bill earlier this year while eight GOP lawmakers backed the climate change measure that passed 219-212.
Three centrist GOP lawmakers have told The Hill that they will likely vote against the Democrats’ 1,990-page healthcare measure.
A Society That Venerates Lawyers More Than Doctors
Just imagine an even bigger boom in the amount of ambulance chasers and more of those stupid commercials where the lawyers throw their net out hoping to catch as many people as they can to get in on their not yet formed class action suit. sounds like fun doesn’t it?
Those of us who are not true believers in expanded government are certain of the following:
If the 1,990-page House Health Care Bill becomes law, the average American will receive worse health care, American physicians will decline in status and income, American medical innovation will dramatically slow down and pharmaceutical discoveries will decline in number and quality. And, of course, the economy of the United States will deteriorate, perhaps permanently.
Pelosi’s 1,990 Page Health Care Bill Will Cost $2.24 Million Per Word
It runs more pages than War and Peace, has nearly five times as many words as the Torah, and its tables of contents alone run far longer than this story.
The House health care bill unveiled Thursday clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word. .
And for some members, that may not be enough.
A “robust” public option can’t be found in the bill. Neither can the word “doctor” – save for a few references to degrees. No “cost curve” is bent. No “blue pill” is dispensed.
“Death” and “taxes” are both in there, but “death panel” is not.
End Of Life Counseling Is In The Pelosi Health Care Bill (Remember Sarah Palin-Death Panels?)
It’s alive.
The Medicare end-of-life planning provision that 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said was tantamount to ‘death panels’ for seniors is staying in the latest Democratic health care bill unveiled Thursday.
The provision allows Medicare to pay for voluntary counseling to help beneficiaries deal with the complex and painful decisions families face when a loved one is approaching death.
For years, federal laws and policies have encouraged Americans to think ahead about end-of-life decisions, and make their wishes known in advance through living wills and similar legal documents. But when House Democrats proposed this summer to pay doctors for end-of-life counseling, it touched off a wave of suspicion and anger.
Pelosi’s Health Care Bill Is The Biggest One Yet, 1,990 Pages..Oh And You Have To Be VIP To Attend The Unveiling Ceremony
This is not “the most transparent congress in history” as these rats said it would be when Comrade Peloski was handed the gavel as she became the first female speaker. watershed moment my ass. ever since it has been the most private congress in history, even going as far as to change the locks on the door in the committees so Republicans could not get again. then they refused to post bills on the internet for people to read and now the unveiling ceremony is closed off to the public. this is no longer America, it has become something else, the liberal progressives utopia.
Pelosi Unveils Her Plan With Government Public Option
It’s almost halloween but no need to dress up. the direction this country is going is scary enough already
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled a retooled health care overhaul plan Thursday intended to bridge differences among Democrats and open a history-making floor debate on extending health insurance to nearly all Americans.
Speaking on the West Front of the Capitol surrounded by Democratic lawmakers, Pelosi, D-Calif., said the House’s version of a health care reform bill will include a government-run insurance option and extend coverage to 36 million uninsured Americans. She said the bill will lower patient costs and reduce the national deficit.
